The events are part of our funding from the Resilience and Community Capacity Building Funds and are designed to help mitigate the impacts of austerity and low incomes. The strands are :
- Swap Shop - Swapping things people no longer need for things they do need, saving money and getting (hopefully) a decent value for things people bring in.
- Information - Are people getting full benefit entitlement? Is there a pressing housing issue? The aim is to help give people good information and advice to help improve their quality of life.
- Opportunities - Around jobs, training and volunteering, perhaps to improve themselves or gain a better pathway into employment or training.
We need your help to both contribute to the event - and to promote it generally and to your own clients, where appropriate.
The result of these two events will hopefully contribute to future plans of others, perhaps adopting similar types of event or at least taking some ideas from what we do.
Buckhaven has the poorest datazone in Fife, help us to try to change that by getting involved.
