CLEAR does much more than plant trees and manage community gardens.  There is a fair amount of indoor activities to match some of the outdoors emphasis.

The Community Workshop at Sandwell St is open every Wed and Thurs and often other afternoons open to anyone interested in woodwork or bikes (redevelopment work to improve it should commence soon).  At the Hub, the Heritage Circle, exploring the history of the town, meets fortnightly (next on Mon 11th) from 2-4 - it's working on interpretation panels for the shore area but also compiling more personal histories. Professional-led Flower Arranging Classes resume on Thurs 28th Feb from 6.30 and likely to be oversubscribed.

Two new groups are also starting out - A Scots Language group to explore the mithir tongue holds its first meeting on Monday 18th Feb.  A Pizza & Voice debating and discussion group on Fri 22nd. All these are held at 36 College St  At both Buckhaven and Methil community gardens most days from Tues-Fri, volunteers with skills and interest get involved in a range of indoor tasks including potting up plants, artwork, signmaking and much more.   Then there is the chance to do some admin, media or research volunteering indoors.  If you have some spare time, why not drop by to chat about how to join in.

The deadline for project applications under the CLIMB Project (Community Led Improvements for Methil & Buckhaven) using funds raised by CLEAR from the Scottish Government ended on 31st January.   Now we enter the participatory budgeting phase where local people vote on the projects to receive support, culminating in  public voting events in Buckhaven on Saturday 2nd March and Methil 9th March.  Projects must reflect the priorities contained in the respective Community Action Plans for Methil and Buckhaven so we should be seeing progress on the ground soon once this decision round is compete.

CLEAR is also a participant in the River Leven Project Board, having provided significant community input into plans to develop the cycle and footpath network at the heart of Levenmouth.  The CLEAR AGM was held successfully on 15th January.  We'd encourage anyone interested in joining the Management Committee, meeting the third Tuesday of every month, to step forward.
